I am a U.S. military veteran with 10+ years of GIS experience using ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop software platform.
I have used multiple versions of ArcGIS including: ArcInfo 1.0, ArcView 3.2, ArcGIS 9.2 through ArcGIS 10.3.
I have utilized ArcPad installed on handheld Trimble GPS units that were blue-tooth connected to Laser Rangefinders to facilitate field data collection.
I have extensive experience in visual photographic analysis for change detection at very large scales (i.e. individual tree instead of entire stand).
Over the past 10 years I have worked in conjunction with the following agencies: U.C. Riverside - Earth Sciences Department; U.S. Forest Service; CalFire; U.C. For the past several years my research focus has been on applying GIS & visual aerial photo interpretation to facilitate the analysis of oak mortality within established single species woodlands to identify potential susceptibility factors that may or may not predispose oaks to infestation by the Goldspotted Oak Borer (GSOB) beetle. In particular, within central San Diego County, CA, as well as parts of Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties.
